Your information

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Andzani Loan Folks collects and handles personal information when you use this website, apply for credit, or use the customer portal.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • identity and contact details, including your name, South African ID number, email address, and mobile number;
  • application, employment, income, requested loan, and repayment information;
  • banking details and supporting documents such as an ID copy, payslip, and bank statement;
  • communications, customer-portal messages, consents, and application decisions; and
  • technical and security information such as IP address, browser details, session data, and security events.

Why we use personal information

We use personal information where needed to:

  • receive, verify, assess, and administer a loan application;
  • perform affordability, identity, fraud, and credit-risk checks where permitted and consented to;
  • create and secure your customer account and communicate application updates;
  • prepare, perform, or enforce a credit agreement if an application is approved;
  • meet legal, regulatory, record-keeping, and lawful reporting obligations; and
  • protect customers, our services, and our rights from misuse or security threats.

Marketing messages are based on your choice where consent is required. You may withdraw marketing consent without affecting application-related or legally required communications.

Credit checks and automated tools

If you provide credit-check consent, information may be checked against credit bureaux and other lawful verification sources. A website calculation or preliminary result is not a final lending decision. Contact us if you want information about a decision or believe information used in an assessment is inaccurate.

When information may be shared

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose only what is reasonably necessary to:

  • credit bureaux, identity or fraud-verification providers, and payment or banking service providers;
  • hosting, document-storage, email, security, and professional service providers acting under appropriate obligations;
  • regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies, or other authorities where disclosure is legally required; or
  • another party where you have directed or consented to the disclosure.

Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed for the sensitivity of loan and identity information. These include access restrictions, authenticated sessions, restricted document access, validation controls, and security logging. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please protect your password and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above and for applicable credit, financial, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, and record-keeping obligations. Retention periods vary by record and outcome. Information is deleted or de-identified when it is no longer required, subject to lawful exceptions and operational backups.

Your choices and rights

Subject to POPIA and other applicable law, you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold personal information about you and provide access to it;
  • correct, update, delete, or restrict qualifying information;
  • record an objection to processing or withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; and
  • explain how to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request and may retain information where the law requires or permits it.

Cookies and similar technology

The site uses cookies or comparable browser storage for sign-in, session security, application progress, preferences, and abuse prevention. Optional third-party security tools may set their own data when enabled. Blocking essential storage may prevent parts of the application or portal from working.

Contact and complaints

To ask a privacy question, exercise a right, or report a concern, email info@andzaniloanfolks.co.za. Include enough detail for us to identify the request, but do not email passwords or full banking credentials.

If a concern is not resolved, you may contact the Information Regulator of South Africa using the current contact details published by that office.

Policy changes

We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through an appropriate customer channel.

Launch review notice: The business must confirm its deployed service providers, retention schedule, information-officer details, and legal wording before production launch.
